What is CSHS & Our Goals
CSHS, or the Computer Science Honor Society, is a community of students at Cherry Creek High School who are dedicated to growing and excelling in computer science.
Our goal is to bring together some of the smartest and most driven students to collaborate, solve problems, and push each other to become better computer scientists.
We achieve this by working on projects together as a community and representing Creek in competitive programming events. Our primary project is OCW (OpenCourseWare), a free educational website built entirely by students, with almost 2,000 users and thousands of views every month.
We meet once a week in the morning to work on OCW. As a member you will collaborate on either programming the platform, designing the platform, or writing for the platform.
Projects
OpenCourseWare (OCW)
OCW is a free educational website built entirely by students, with nearly 2,000 users and thousands of views every month. It bridges access gaps by curating and creating high quality resources, and it continues to grow with each new contribution.
Technologies Used
More coming soon!
OCW has taken three years to build. The time invested has ensured both the quantity and quality of resources. As we move into maintenance mode for OCW, we plan to expand the scope of projects we take on.
Meetings
We meet twice each week — to practice for competitions and to build OCW (OpenCourseWare).
Competitive Programming Practice
When: Wednesdays, 3:30–4:30 PM
Where: Math Science Resource Center
We meet Wednesdays after school to prepare for USACO and Lockheed Martin CodeQuest.
OCW / Projects
When: Thursdays, 7:45–8:20 AM
Where: W431 (CS Room)
Build and improve OCW — collaborate on programming, design, or writing for the platform.
What We Do
We work on projects together as a community and represent Creek in competitive programming events. Our primary project is OCW — a student-built, free educational site used by nearly 2,000 learners.
Social Events
Every few weeks, Wednesday meetings become social — snacks, gaming, and time to hang out with the team.
